- IR3 detectors have relatively higher immunity to infrared radiation produced by arc flash, lightning and sunlight.
- Suitable for detecting liquid hydrocarbons and dirty fires.
- Steam and oil contaminants impair the sensitivity and performance of the device.
- It processes a wider spectral range with greater accuracy than UV and UV/IR detectors, which results in longer response times.
