UV/IR detectors utilize a UV sensor along with an IR sensor in one device… This dual-spectrum detector is sensitive to both UV and IR radiation emitted by flames. The UV/IR combination flame detector offers greater safety than single-spectrum detectors, which have a moderate response speed.UV/IR flame detectors are suitable for indoor and outdoor use and detect a wide range of hydrocarbon flames such as wood, paper, gasoline, as well as hydrogen and hydrocarbons such as methanol and methane.

Advantages and disadvantages
